Vince Mpls: On this day in 1919, Zeppelin LZ210 "Bodensee" moored atop the Witch's Hat Water Tower to the delight of the assembled citizens of Minneapolis. It was the first and only time the tower was used for its originally designed purpose as a docking station for airships.

It would have worked out, but there's just not enough zeppelin parking along University Avenue SE.

I really wish they'd bring these back. Like for regional travel. Imagine taking a zeppelin to the north shore.
