At a resort I stayed at outside Mombasa, the monkeys recognized the platter of treats left out for honeymooners and knew some easy marks had just arrived. They would knock on the door and then rush in to grab the goods. π
Saw some monkeys in a tourist spot that had their scam down to a fine art.
One on the ground begs a tourist holding packet of chips. Their mark raises it above their head not realizing there's one up on the wall behind them. Chip packet gets ripped apart and suddenly 20 more appear from nowhere.
Maybe it's because I have family from SEA and growing up beside the ocean but like...you will not catch me eating a snack outdoors if I know there's food motivated wild animals around.
Their trick was you only ever saw the one monkey cutely begging right up until the moment your snack is raining down around you like confetti!
You couldn't even be mad, just impressed at their technique and organizational skills.
