Hi! If you live in the Seattle area, my cyanotype prints and I will be at the Mill Creek Handmade Market tomorrow (June 30th)! Come find me in downtown Mill Creek, WA outside Lilac & Lemon. I’ll have some of the mini gold-framed cyanotypes! millcreekchamber.com/event/june30...

As always I feel weird about self-promotion, but I genuinely enjoy doing art events, will be on my own at this one, and would love to say hi and talk about art! (And I enjoy meeting and talking to people at markets regardless of whether they buy anything 💙)

If you can’t make this event but would like to say hi at another one, I’ll be at the Bothell Art Walk on July 11th and the Making Local Market on July 13th, both in downtown Bothell, WA!

I’m really glad you posted about this. I know a college kid in Seattle who loves nature and making stuff and would love your work! I just sent a text to her mom (my best friend.)

Oh, I would love to say hi to them and chat about art :D! If they’re interested in cyanotype, I super recommend trying it! It’s not expensive to get started (the chemistry itself is like $15 and super safe), and an incredibly versatile way to explore making art from nature!

Unrelatedly, if they like tidepooling, they might enjoy going to a city beach when the beach naturalists are there! They’ll be at most city beaches for the upcoming low tides July 4-7: www.seattleaquarium.org/explore-the-... (I volunteer with BN but won’t be there this week due to work, alas.)

They do tide pooling regularly! In fact, they took us tide pooling the one time we visited them in Seattle. (They used to live on the East Coast which is how I met them.)

They sound extremely cool and if they do say hi some time, I’d love to hear any recommendations/wisdom they care to share about tidepooling in WA!

Ok, I'm passing on the suggestion! It would be neat if you could meet sometime because I think you'd have lots in common.

We're texting about it right now. They leave for a trip on Monday so are likely too busy getting ready. Maybe they can make one of the other events you mentioned. My friend really loved the photos of your work. And she's a chemist so she'd be interested in that side of things.

That is so lovely and also the chemistry is super fascinating! I’ve read explanations of why it works the way it does and but still don’t totally understand. I’ll be in Bothell again on July 11th and 13th, and hopefully other events in the Seattle area this year!

Oh wow, these look brilliant! I have done some myself but only with plants, no photos. I need to post them one time here. Cyanotype it's big fun, and you can easy get addicted to it x3 I hope your exhibition will be a blast and that you are sold out at the end:)

I had no idea cyanotypes could be so detailed like this! These are beautiful!

Thank you so much!! I’ve found that some kinds of washi paper have a surface that captures really fine detail from a photo negative :D
