When I was there last week, I didn't do my homework, and thus just set out to find basaltic dikes cutting the granite. Eventually found some down around Otter Cliffs, but it wasn't the classic images that I've seen.
We will keep our eyes open. We are here with non-geologists so this will be an opportunity to see how far we can get them to tolerate our geology needs. 😉
My recommendation: hike in the area around Jordan Pond and The Bubbles, and take your time visiting all the pullouts along the park loop road (Otter Cliffs, Thunder Hole, Sand Beach). Champlain Mountain was a hike we used to enjoy, too.
