The way that Community Notes is being manipulated on Twitter right now is stunning. There’s one guy in particular who keeps screenshotting notes that are nothing but wild speculation as “proof” that Israel is staging fake scenes of blood and dead children.
Yes; but the flip side is that the Israeli state lies so frequently and with such ease that it has destroyed its credibility — every word out of the Israeli state has to be fact checked now with the highest level of skepticism.
In general, one should always rely on journalists rather than official sources, but there's no equivalence between anything the Israeli authorities have said during this conflict and the blatant atrocity denial circulating on Twitter (much as it did on the site previously for Bashar Assad's crimes).
As does Hamas! Let’s not forget the whopper that their spokesman said last week that their fighters only engaged with the Israeli military and that Gazan civilians had followed in their wake. Way to throw Palestinians under the bus, Hamas. 😐
