Worst version of this argument is saying "use a good process and not a bad one! tee hee!" and the best version I've seen is Klein doing deep dives on how the process USED to work.

I don't think you can say anything credible on this short of a time frame that secures widespread democratic legitimacy. Or to put it another way, a party strong enough to do a switcharooni process four months out isn't running coinflips against Trump to begin with.
