My first floppy drive was capable of storing 90k per side. You had to flip the disk over to access the other side.

I used part of my Jeopardy winnings to buy a SCSI ZIP drive because it was faster!

What a fun bit of tech. SCSI plus a Zip drive. Nothing would ever be as reliable ever again.

Used zip discs but still had a floppy 💾 on my laptop
I had a laptop that weighed about 10 lbs that had a swappable zip/cd rom drive. Also had a modem card with an ethernet dongle.

My first laptop had 100mb drive that I would "never fill" Had zip disks within a month.

I could not imagine why one needed a whole 100MB on one disk when I first learned about Zip disks.

I used zip disks failing as an excuse my CS projects were late On a related note, original Quake fit and ran directly off one of those disks in any of the CS computers
