I learned a weird thing recently. It's possible for a solar panel to briefly (for tens of seconds or minutes) receive MORE solar energy than is arriving at the top of the atmosphere. It's called over-irradiance, and it matters because it can mess up solar panels (which aren't designed for it) 1/3
