The politics of age in "Logan's Run" haven't aged well...

in the town where I used to live, they had a sign up for a new development called Logan's Run and I really really really want to know why

Oh, this should be interesting. I remember reading the novel many years after seeing the movie, considering the differences, which parts the book did well and which the movie improved on (there were some). Still, I just cannot even see it being the sort of novel that would be written today.
