Lynn's "national IQ" dataset is egregiously flawed; he never described methods for its construction & there is evidence the dataset is systematically biased. Journals should retract papers which have used the data, yet are reluctant to do so, as our @statnews.bsky.social piece describes👇

I've said this so many times but coverage of the protests really underscores it: A lot of political reporting is just bad travel writing, nothing more. Feigning interest in a group or culture, only to write a story based on existing biases and stereotypes.
once again, this is a skill issue

It's conference application season! We in the Rosenberg Lab recently assembled a list of conferences and I thought it could be helpful for other folks doing theoretical population biology. List is below -- feel free to add any we missed!

Very sad news from @taichimpproject.bsky.social, with the passing of Christophe Boesch. His decades-long work with tool-using chimpanzees in west Africa shaped many of the ideas about how our own species came to be tool-users.

Randomized exposure to high school biology curriculum shows that moving curriculum beyond simple Mendelian treatments of genetics in ways that highlight the true patterns of human variation (e.g. Lewontin's famous results) & the multi-factorial basis of complex traits can reduce genetic essentialism

Awesome job, Harvard, awesome job. Thanks to your cravenness, the anti-academic authoritarians are now issuing bounties. Did you think this would be the one time appeasement would pay off? I hope other schools find their spines, and fast.
Great. People with zero ethical standards are now setting bounties on academics.
