It makes sense though, because if there’s one person who would know whether Shiva did or didn’t invent email, it’s a linguistics professor.

Given the Hindu fundies in India are borrowing a page from American Creationists and reinterpreting poetic/symbolic scripture as scientific fact, "Shiva invented email" is not an impossible position for the Modi government to take. :)
