Oh yeah well, tacos or Bibimbap?

Don't like this! Answer me coward.

The “or” is bullshit

Can I interest you in a bulgogi taco

For the record I'm a big fan of korean-mexican fusion.
Avatar
One of the better cuisine fusions.

Sanjusan in Minneapolis is Japanese-Italian. It’s wild.

Have a ton of Mexican Asian fusion out here. Mexican sushi, Mexican Chinese, etc... even have Mexican Mediterranean and that last one is a delightful dope combo
Avatar
wow, have to find and try that someday.

After nothing but a Subway in under a 20-minute drive, I would def. eat a bulgogi taco. We were promised taco trucks on every corner! You know how many taco trucks are in my town? ZERO! Thanks, Biden!

What kind of American dystopia has no taco truck?? I'm kinda bummed out that the construction on my street in Dallas finished, and instead of being able to step out around noon and walk across the street, now I have to walk 2-3 blocks to get texmex.

A population 900 town in Nowhere, KY. There is a Mexican restaurant, true, but they just serve normal "acceptable to very boring Midwesterners" tacos, a few cuts above Taco Bell. And it's notably inferior to the one about 15 miles away. No food trucks at all, taco or not.
Avatar
lol. my small town in southern oregon has about 10 taco trucks, and they are pretty authentic, too. 🙌 tho i miss hawaiian food and hawaii still, and all the oahu food trucks.

Move to LA or Phoenix. Problem solved?
Avatar
Nobody should move TO Phoenix. Place is already facing a monumental water crisis. I say we just redistribute the taco trucks.
Avatar
Did a search. The only LA apartment costing the same as my mortgage is <200 sf. I guess I'll be going to Subway.

Yes, yes you may. Taco, please?

Where is this restaurant?

It’s bibimbap only when it’s really good. Standard taco is much harder to screw up

Not familiar. Is that somewhere in Asia?
Avatar
In the sense that Europeans were looking for a faster sea route to Asia and Columbus initially thought he'd succeeded? Yes. America is in Asia.

Sweet! I’ll organize an expedition to this “America.”

I was well into adulthood, after decades of eating what most of this country calls "tacos" (Texas chili in a tortilla, often a hard shell tortilla), before I had anything resembling a real taco.
Avatar
To be fair, texas chili in a hard shell is kind of an okay food if it's already on your plate.
Avatar
I grew up with it, I still make it. It's good stuff! It's not tacos.
Avatar
We ate them when I was a kid too-probably not texas chile, though. Maybe Rosarita refritos? Anyway, that was the Bay Area 60 odd years ago, before the giant Mission burrito was invented.

Oh man, the company I work for is based in Austin. Next work trip I'll go there!

They have a bunch of locations, so you'll probably have an easy job of putting together a lunch group!
