13 May 1943 | Sara Cohen was born in Groningen in The Netherlands. She was a Dutch Jewish girl, a daughter of Jozef and Carolien.
In February 1944 she was murdered in a gas chamber of Auschwitz.
She lived 9 months.
She never walked. She never talked. A sad story within a bad story. I'm weeping.
Thank you for your work - nobody is really dead as long as they're remembered.
Nein...
Even if they* were Jewish hating monsters
A few years ago I saw John Zorn in concert in s'Hertogenbosch. On the way back we visited Camp Vught and the memorial stone with the names, ages and deportation destinations of children who were held there has stayed on my mind ever since. 2000 children in total, the youngest being only 6 months old
- sent to Auschwitz II..
Dehumanisation really is where we all should draw a line in the sand that no one ever should cross. In the end, it always "justifies" murdering children, so very young.
