Now, as I have personally trained all my dogs, I get how this might seem hypocritical I'm absolutely against board and train, where you send your dog away But if you're running into something that needs work, take a class! That you AND the dog go to!
I belong to (read: spectate) a couple of dog groups on Facebook, and while I shouldn't be surprised at how many people say "I want my dog to learn from me, not a stranger with a certificate" Well

I have a friend that has sent her dog away for training twice. And then doesn’t understand why the dog doesn’t behave when it comes back and she acts exactly the same as she did before she sent him away. She currently wakes up and feeds him four times a night when he wakes her up. 😬

He also doesn’t like to walk, so she just immediately gives in and carries him around. Or, well, she did do that until she just gave up and bought him a literal god damn stroller.

Dog training is also so that the person knows how to act! You want an animal you can live with, and you want to have the tools to handle that A STROLLER! what kind of dog is he?

He’s a dachshund. He’s sweet and very trainable. I’ve looked in on him a few times and when I walk him, if he sits and doesn’t want to go I just, ya know, tug on the leash a little and he gets up and goes. Like, he’s not even a hard case. He just offers literally any resistance and she gives up.

Oh yeah he's just smart enough to know how easily he can win!
