@bubbaprog.ilovecitr.us Over the last week, the amount of Columbia jerseys (and complete lack of Uruguay's) I have seen out and about has been astounding. Just on observations alone, I'm thinking at least 70/30 to Columbia fans at BofA tonight?

@davidjroth.bsky.social Have you seen any Chris Morris jerseys in your recent thrift shop trips? Just curious.

Dangit. I've been reading Lucas/Uni Watch since the Village Voice (paper edition!) and his dedication to this beat is unmatched. I even got a cranky (read: normal for him) response at the other place about the "Keep Pounding" wordmark on the Panthers jersey. Never change, Paul.
For 25 years, 'Uni Watch' built a following of uniform obsessives. Now its founder is walking awaywww.nytimes.com Paul Lukas is retiring from his website on May 26, a quarter century after the first 'Uni Watch' feature appeared in the Village Voice.

Case in point: I would not have even thought I'd be listening to Chevelle today, let alone liking them! Thanks to @fluxblog.bsky.social for curating this great Albini overview.

How could I forget that Albini also engineered another one of Dayton's finest bands?
First real exposure to @electricalwsop.bsky.social was Helmet's Meantime (those drums!) There were so many albums after that: - No Pocky For Kitty - Rid Of Me - In Utero - Pacer - Under the Bushes Under the Stars - Ocean Songs - My Father, My King

Just saw a man wearing a "Kennedy 2024" hoodie walking his dog and I think it was trying to get as far away from that as possible.

Never felt as old as I do now. We're seeing Ben Schwartz tonight and the whole crowd went quiet at the end of A Tribe Called Quest's "Award Tour", thinking the answering machine skit at the end was an announcement over the PA.

Watching KTLA’s Rose Parade coverage has spoiled me. I’m in a spot where I’m having to watch ABC’s coverage and it’s abysmal.

Psyched to watch the Rose Parade and I only find out now that I can't access my local NBC station (antenna reception here stinks and contract dispute online). I know it's available elsewhere, but they always have the best coverage of the hard right turn that always causes chaos. Bah.

As a lifelong Yankees fan: Fuck this shit. (Yes, I know the Steinbrenners have been like this forever. I get it. However, keeping your mouth shut is always an option.)
i know people get mad at brands for releasing a somber statement about everything, but sometimes you get a real humdinger

Didn't see a single play of Dolphins-Jets until the Tua interception before of the end of the half. Should've taken a knee, Jets.

Whenever this sketch and story pops up, I can't not share it. Probably a combination of unexpectedness (Lucy Lawless doing a Stevie Nicks impression *that* good) and perfect writing made this live in my head rent free for so long.
Twenty-five years ago today, Lucy Lawless hosted "Saturday Night Live." This one sketch she did burned itself into my brain. I wrote about it once. It's still, maybe stupidly, one of the things I am most proud of. Happy birthday, "Stevie Nicks' Fajita Roundup." www.theringer.com/music/2020/5...

RIP Tim Wakefield. As a Yankee fan, I always loved seeing him pitch. (No, I don't mean just in a Boone-like situation.) Knuckleballers are a different breed and when he was on, it was fun to watch. Also seemed like he was a good guy, too. (Can't say the same for that stain of a former teammate.)
