It's like, I don't have a problem with furries and furry art as a concept, as an example. They can do what they want to do, and I'm cool with that.
But I kinda don't want to see it on my Discover feed, you know?
truly!! I follow a "dog pics" feed and........ boy. Furries are totally fine people, do your thing you dudes, but...... I just wanna see pics of people's dogs, ya know? not furry porn 🫠
This list for muting furries. It is generated based on a script that looks at the keywords and content of a user's profile. Updated weekly. Donate/tip at https://venmo.com/u/yeahwellokay
Be wary of these furry block lists. They have a huge amount of false positives. And much of the time it's furries who subscribe to furry lists but don't post any gross art themselves.
This reminds me of the time a very sweet friend of mine - by her own admission she is all sparkly unicorns and rainbows - was frustrated by some of the people reaching out to her on dating sites. “I mean, what even is pegging,” she asked me once while showing me an example.
Which, in turn reminded me of the time I was playing Cards Against Humanity once with some people and another innocent friend asked, “wait, what is a glory hole?”
Deep down, I find myself asking, why DO I know these things??
God I was stuck in a game with a college friend, his younger sister, and his parents. He loved the game, I really didn't. Clitoris came up on a card. The younger sister (she was 19 I think) was confused. It was dead silent. I didn't know what to do so I just explained it to her.
Genuinely the most embarassing moment of my life to be like 22, looking like a young dude, having to stammer out a PG explanation of a clitoris to a young woman in front of the very parents that failed to teach her basic facts about her body.
My first time playing was with a bunch of fellow romance writers and I got to explain to a pastor twice my age who writes sweet Christian romance what bukkake is
I can only imagine how I would try to explain. It’s a Japanese dish of cold udon splashed with flavorful dashi. Now let’s start there and talk about other contexts involving the splashing of liquids…. [conversations plummets downhill]
This is straying super off topic, but the thing I never liked about CAH is that I feel that it so easily suggests a sense of negativity or kink shaming on these topics as they come up, & not everyone can explain or have this stuff explained with an “appropriate” sense of respect and/or curiosity.
I had to adopt a policy of muting furry art accounts on site, because you cannot possibly navigate anything sumo-related otherwise
I admire these people’s body positivity, but their love of putting fat animals in a mawashi is exhausting
Like others have mentioned, half of my Discover feed is either selfies of hairy guys or obese(??) furry art. And constantly tapping “Show less like this” seems to be about as useful as the crosswalk button at an intersection.
