I kind of want to do an analysis of the bad guys in Footloose and Roadhouse. I bet there's a bunch of weird overlap.

I’ve never seen Roadhouse! My parents wouldn’t let me when it came out and I just never did but it’s going on the list!

It's amazing. Some aspects don't hold up, but it's one of the best of that era of 80s movies. The recent remake is an absolute mess but does have a similar vibe.

I like to imagine that Kenny Loggins wrote all those 80s songs beforehand and they had to construct whole movies around them

I saw it again recently & was surprised at how well it held up. Tho I did think it was odd that Ren didn't need to be held back from kicking the guy's ass after he hit Ariel.
