i just don't use instagram any more, it doesn't show me the people i follow and instead shows me a lot of bullshit :(
Yeah, that's for sure.
And it's terrible at the one thing it's supposed to do.
Where should I go instead?
i don't know that there is a suitable alternative (yet?)

There's activitypub stuff with photo albums that some seem to like, such as pixelfed.
It does keep that annoying bit with Mastodon in general of having to pick server + migration being annoying if you want to switch, but it's safe from enshittification

I logged into IG for the first time in weeks. Checked up on Popeye the Foodie dog pictures and felt better
If you click on the following tab in Instagram it shows you posts in order, no bull and not even ads.

Thanks! Mostly a Nikon Z6ii for the night shots and that plus a mix of the D810 and D700 for the others.
