The problem with "where have you been" responses to people's rising political concerns is that we should be encouraging people to become politically active rather than scolding them upon their arrival.

Goldsmiths has made so many lecturers & professors redundant that the university has effectively shut down its MA in Queer History, the only MA of its kind in the world. Amongst the general onslaught on both higher ed and queer & trans rights in the UK, this is...very bad.

Hot take: I'm truly not interested in hand wringing over how much people will miss enjoying the books of men who have turned out to be abusers. I'm far more concerned about the missing art that women haven't been able to create/publish because they crossed paths with such men.
