Don’t say “oh they can’t get to them”. Don’t say “my cat never bothers flowers.” Cats who survive have multi day stays at the emergency vet, and it’s expensive. There’s no promise they can save your cat. Again- MASSIVE FATAL CAT TOXIN. Lilies bad. 2/x

Trying to think what could possibly be that nephrotoxic for cats and be completely harmless for humans. Per the fda the poison still hasn’t been identified.

Yeah. The challenge is that cat internal anatomy has some interesting quirks. And for a range of reasons they aren’t animals that have attracted veterinary research dollars until recently.

People who say "Oh they can't get to them" have never been around a cat.

When I worked as a vet tech, saw this way more than expected. My Buster donated blood on more than one occasion to help other cats. Miss that rascal.

Oof, dealt with this two years ago. The cat was a very unhappy camper having to hang out at the vet for a few days.

My parent’s had these flowers in the garden as well as cats but luckily they never got poisoned. Coyotes got most of them 😕

And a nightmare for many asthmatics. Don’t bring them to the office either.
