Y'all need to buy @swordsjew.bsky.social new book, which I am referencing here cause I don't think you fully understand the depth and breadth of the evangelical right's depraved, evil agenda and stranglehold on the country. Talia lays it all out. It is *essential* reading for all Americans.
🥰🥰🥰
It legitimately changed my entire perspective on the world and I already knew a lot of the stuff in it peripherally! But seeing it all in one place in much greater detail was really eye opening.
I really really want to read this and then also make everyone I know read it
genuinely feel like there’s a solid shot at getting the adult continuing education program at church to book club it
We need to shout this book from every rooftop. The left does not understand the right. They think they're whacky weirdos. They don't take them seriously. There's no way you come out the other side of the book with that attitude.
that’s part of why I think breaking Project 2025 down into bite-sized chunks could be really helpful with undecideds/non-voters who might dismiss terms like “Christofascist” as exaggerations by the left. there’s a willful desire to believe the right won’t REALLY do all those things
Oh yeah they're absolutely weirdos but I think the way the left paints them as funny kooks to laugh at is part of the reason we got here. A lot of people do not take them seriously.
They were definitely kooky weirdos with their excessive "belief" and "devotion." It's been documented, devout American Christians were all "Commie" fighters & after the fall of the USSR, the patriarchy repurposed their energies into the culture war/s. I definitely took them seriously after that.
