Ex & future film writer/director on career hiatus due to being a solo gay dad raising 3 kids (teens now). Parenthood makes birthing a movie seem easy. NYC/LA/London. Beauty, love, art, stories, mystery, and absurdity. I come in peace.

Any grammar experts willing to advise? My son needs to answer a question in a single sentence no longer than 50 words for a college application. I've looked at what he wrote, which likely should be two sentences, and am wondering if a semicolon or a hyphen would save the day.

Walz: Trump is weird. Pelosi, in NY Times interview today: Weird is right, but he's more than weird. Trump is beyond weird.

All time favorite male beauties, different in talent, similar in honesty, are Keanu and Yibo. I guess it's not v Chinese but I'd sure love to see Yibo looking scruffy.

I wonder if in non Judeo-Christian sex-obssessed and repressed cultures, the parts of the body that give pleasure and engender life are used to insult someone? Should anyone call me a bellend, pussy, dick, ass, etc I'd be flattered. Big step up from belly-button or chin-dimple.

My uncle, abt to ship out to fight in WW2, saw Mae West's hit Catherine Was Great (1944) on B'way. Apocryphal: He told me that when Empress Cat ordered a gown to be cleaned quickly, the Chinese launderer said he'd have it back "lickety split." Empress Cat: "Never mind that, just clean the dress."

Whitmer says she doesn't want to be VP. She's the strongest choice. I don't believe the misogynist hysteria pushed by the press. She's relatable, smart, speaks easily, charismatic, brings several states. Harris should offer her attn to a fave issue, plum assignments, a night w/ Yibo. Whatever works.

Physical beauty, intelligence, heart, charm, grace, honesty, transparency, humor, high spirits, poise, animal magnetism and having a job at Central Bank. These are the ingredients of enchantment.

Collette spotted Audrey Hepburn in a French hotel, then had herself wheeled to telegraph NYC to inform her producers she'd found the girl to star in "Gigi" (not the musical) on Broadway. Audrey kept saying, "But I don't know how to act!" Critics said she was remarkable. From there: "Roman Holiday."

Gayer Than Thou recently observed that Cyan is a dumb color. I can get behind that. It sounds like a poison's nickname. Chartreuse, though, is just sadistic. Hurts the eyes, & even for people with a dark skin tone who aren't destroyed by it, like fuschia and neon orange, it's bilious.

So Marianne Williamson is making a play for Dem delegates, looking to secure the nomination. America would be so lucky if she succeeds. Two candidates endorsed by God. Win/win.

This whole excerpt tells you multitudes about our current political moment.

As I understand it, Asian Stars become brand ambassadors in part because their fans loyally buy brand products, benefitting all parties. Do Stars get to keep a % of the sales profits, as Trump keeps a % of profits of hotels to which he's licensed his name? Or, prob just flat fee, right?

An idea: BIDEN CAN DEFEAT TRUMP BY AGREEING TO STEP DOWN subject to the party accepting his terms to avoid a chaotic convention. Notify the party he will step down if his delegates agree to accept his chosen replacement to assure the defeat of Trump. A ticket of Whitmer/Shapiro defeats Trump

This is exactly like the Wonka movie, I can tell even though I never saw it. "The Colonel," a magical musical about dreaming big. I see Awkwafina as the Colonel's twinkly but wise white-haired white-bearded mom, sending her boy out to explore the world (of chickens). Love the Chinese style jacket.

Astaire started dancing on stage at 4. YIbo at what, 14? Few stars since Vaudeville have practiced being in front of audiences since childhood. Being at ease, being free while performing takes experience and guts. Fred had both. Yibo has both. Dancers, actors, celebrated artists, masters of style.

Is "My Strange Friend" worth watching for the Yibo factor? If I can even find it?

Just saw this. I wonder why she dyed her natural red to brunette for the audition? Her first movie was the delightfully sentimental "Pocketful of Miracles," one to watch when you're in a sappy mood (talking to you, Trump). Maybe Bette Davis taught her the dance moves. www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2iB...
Ann-Margret - "Bill Bailey" Screen Test 1961www.youtube.com Ann-Margret here in January 1961 performing "Bill Bailey" for the second part of her screen test. This footage here showcases more of her singing and dancing abilities, this was a part of her personality test.

The "Mae West Life Vest" saved thousands of lives. I'm guessing an engineer was watching one of her movies and a lightbulb flipped on.

Arletty. Her charisma, poise, mystery & self-possession were unparalleled. She saved Jews during the occupation & took a German lover. "My heart belongs to France but my arse is international." Williams rewrote a line in Streetcar so she could play Blanche. Watch "Children of Paradise" & be amazed.

A room in my friend Gerald's enormous studio. He's an artist, bought a commercial building in an industrial CT town and transformed it. 1940s industrial machinery next to French antiques & pre-Columbian artifacts. Famous paintings next to my son's kindergarten art. The studio is a sculpture.

I'm okay with drafty Euro-Antique houses but if you're going to clutter, you have to go all the way. Rule of three be damned, the vase and column are fine but that busy little guy's got to go - or else be perched on top of the pot. And that color. Orange is evil. I think it's Martha Stewart "Guava."
