Considering how the Dutch voted in November last year, their antifascist credentials are a bit tarnished. I say this as one who’s lived in Amsterdam, loves NL, & has supported the Oranje for 35 years.
I did not imply that Netherlands is a beacon of anti-fascism tolerance, what is obvious is that Erdogan's authoritarianism, chauvinism and increasing belligerence is a bigger threat to Europe and his own people than whatever is happening in the Netherlands.
The fact that every year thousands of Turkish citizens apply for asylum in the Netherlands to escape increasing chauvinism and authoritarianism at home (and not the other way around) speaks volumes, regardless of whatever real problems with far-right tendencies Holland struggles with now.
