Ummmm. I guess they are capitalizing on this…

I knew my new neighborhood was pretty walkable, but this is a bit much.

and i guess this is an attempt at...humor? And he teaches at UCLA Law?

Someone is mad that they are locked out.

Maybe it’s just me but I think it’s sort of pandering when The Bear casts the Illinois Governor in the show.

The publisher of Atlanta Journal-Constitution with some batshit crazy stuff. Where is paper's call for Trump to step down due to being an utterly corrupt, convicted felon and found to be a rapist in a civil trial? Just absolute bonkers stuff here. This guy has made the paper an absolute joke.

Here’s a datapoint to suggest otherwise. Stability can be outweighed by opportunity.

Look who’s happy with ending Chevron…

What Andrew Kahrl writes, in The Black Tax, about the extraction of Black-owned land by white investors on Hilton Head during the twentieth century, sounds pretty similar to the gentrification of cities like Atlanta over the last three decades...

I am reading "The Black Tax: 150 Years of Theft, Exploitation, and Dispossession in America" by Andrew Karhl, and it's promises to be a banger. I'll post particularly pithy tidbits like this one as I go. (apologies, but the reader makes doing Alt text difficult)

...2/N History is repeating itself in Georgia as large, corporate- (i.e., white-) owned property is severely undertaxed relative to lower-wealth property owners and small rental properties... Here is Kahrl writing on post-Reconstruction property tax unfairness...

....3/N. Leading delinquent Chicago tax buyer Allan Blair bought the taxes and owned the house that Dr. King stayed at in Chicago in 1966. He was a leading tax-lien speculator and contract-for-deed buyer. He was also the chair of the local bar association's "ethics" committee. 🤦‍♂️

Apologies to my friends in NYC and Atlanta today.

I swear it’s not my fault. I move from Atlanta to Chicago, and what happens?! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Besides better equitable transit-oriented development policy, Chicago certainly has Atlanta (easily) beat when it comes to great public spaces. Today’s example: The Chicago Cultural Center. A true gem.

I hope, in vain, to be as mobile as this guy (my dad) if I get to 93.

Someone on FB said the quiet part out loud.

Absolutely not. They are already trashing him.

So, just want to be sure people know who the Dean of UGA Law School is... Peter Rutledge, former clerk to Thomas, and the guy to the far left here (so I'd advise avoiding UGA law for the time being if you can)
Oh this is so beyond fucked up - The UGA law clinic was suing the assholes behind cop city for refusing to comply with an open records request… So the dean of UGA shut down the entire damn law clinic.

“The Southern economic development model has failed to create shared prosperity in the region. In fact, this model was deliberately designed to do the opposite—to extract the labor of Black and brown Southerners as cheaply as possible.” https://www.epi.org/publication/rooted-racism-part1/

This is totally unsurprising. So many “celebrations” of progressive history on campuses on a weekly basis. While current uni policies and practices enforce a culture of autocracy.
