never have i understood people who amass huge digital collections of recipes. i guess at least they won't be found under a huge collapsed pile of newspapers, cookbooks, and magazine when a neighbor notices a funny smell and a pile of unopened mail on the stoop
Recipe blogs disappear way more often than you’d think, and if that one blog had the best fucking troubleshooting article about macarons — BraveTart I’m looking at you — disappears you’re out of luck forever.
I have! I have a copy of the site now, but only because someone had copied the recipes they used and liked (and eventually all of them when they found out they liked their recipes) as google docs.
I don't even have that many but for me it is archival + essential search ("fennel is in season, what do I have for fennel", for example) + ease of sharing.
