I'm not boosting anything. We must research CO₂ removal methods to understand efficacy and potential side effects. I have always been crystal clear about this. This is about our responsibility to future generations.

This is a disingenuous argument from environmental groups against researching climate solutions. Fossil fuel companies will use the potential of CO₂ removal (CDR) for greenwashing, so if scientists can't study the efficacy and potential side effects, greenwashing will continue.
We should remember how good Wally Broecker was using just simple tools.
More than four decades ago, in 1982, Wally predicted that atmospheric CO₂ in 2025 would be 419.5 ppm.
Measured global average atmospheric CO₂ was 419.3 ppm in 2023. 👀
Good news: In 8 years, electricity generation from non-fossil-fuel sources (including nuclear) rose by 44%
Bad news: In the same period, global electricity output increased 23% and generation by fossil fuels reached an all-time peak.
By not being at the bad place, y’all are missing this absolute banger of a thread from @volts.wtf. Like him, I don’t care who is the Democratic nominee.
It was nice meeting @ayeshatandon.bsky.social and @orladwyer.bsky.social at the #NegativeCO2Conference in Oxford. Here's their write-up for @carbonbrief.org.
If we have robust MRV, including quantification of uncertainties, marine CDR could play an important role.

Behold $1300 socks.
It's not fashionable to talk about consuming less as a climate solution because our economy is based on selling us crap that no one needs.
Wow, it seems things haven't gone so well under the Conservatives in the UK. Maybe y'all should vote for one of the other parties tomorrow (and I don't mean the Brexit idiots). 😉

These geniuses think releasing 40+ billion tonnes of CO₂ a year to the atmosphere does nothing but that chemtrails are real and cloud seeding is what's causing extreme weather events.
Fine recommendation from Scott Doney and colleagues about using tracers to develop robust monitoring, reporting, and verification (#MRV) for marine carbon dioxide removal (#mCDR).
