BBC football fixture list for Saturday include an International friendly match. I've only ever come across this as a designation for a match between two national teams. My knowledge of world geography is pretty good, but this is the first I've heard of the nations of Burghausen and Unterhaching.

@katyavdgk.bsky.social and I just discovered pastis flavour Brets. Weird idea for a crisp flavour, we thought, before opening the packet. Once we started partaking, though, we found it very hard to stop!

Have just found a pork scratching that looks just like the communicator/badge on Starfleet uniforms. It has since been eaten.

Shocked and appalled by this. I used to work there. Terrified that the UK government may amend the relevant statute to allow the Davies collection, one of the finest and earliest collections of impressionist and post-impressionist art in the UK to be broken up and sold. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Look at this beauty. ❤️ A stained glass piece by my friend @stonkers.bsky.social inspired by the medieval Old Gaelic poem, Pangur Bán. It is by a monk who would work tirelessly at his studies as his cat, Pangur Bán, faithfully hunted mice. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangur_...

The eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD caused a group of painters/decorators to flee Pompeii, leaving behind their unfinished work & these paint pots & mixing bowls. Pigments shown here range from yellow (ochre) to blue (Egyptian Blue) to red (Haematite) www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/a...

Not a bad view from the bottom of our garden (complete with Limousin cattle just in front of the trees in the far distance if one zooms in to the max). Sad to be about to leave it all behind to head back to the UK.
