it takes real skill to continually set up the most tragic, fucked up thing you can think of and immediately follow it with undead couples counseling mediated by Anthony Bourdain
The family seems to have taken a very hands off approach to the show, so I don't think they're happy with the changes. I don't know what happened between the last selling of the rights and how the show ended up, but I suspect Anne and Christopher wanted a more faithful version.
At the time I read it the Mayfair Witches was my favorite series. I loved how deep they went into the mythology, and I had been craving a good TV show do do that kind of thing with witches, so I was hoping for a lot. Very disappointed. My bf still wants to watch the 2nd season but I'm resisting.
Everyone raves but I’ve been avoiding it because I don’t like gore and I assume vampires = gore. For those of you who’ve seen it, how high is the gore factor?
I’m going back and forth on it personally. I loved loved the original movie and thought Pitt and cruise did a phenomenal job. Reid and Anderson are doing amazing too but it’s definitely a different flavor. It’s the modern day interludes where I lose some interest though. Only 3 episodes in though.
