I don’t usually watch sad shows. But wow, “Interview with the Vampire” is exquisite.

it takes real skill to continually set up the most tragic, fucked up thing you can think of and immediately follow it with undead couples counseling mediated by Anthony Bourdain

I don't know whose idea it was to have Daniel be Anthony Bourdain but I am so very much here for it.

Heh. When I first saw Bourdain I thought "Who's this bizarre lovechild of Bogart and Eric Bogosian anyway?"

It’s just incredible. Season 2 even better

I really hope Anne Rice is watching through the veil and is like “THATS what I meant, y’all.”

The family seems to have taken a very hands off approach to the show, so I don't think they're happy with the changes. I don't know what happened between the last selling of the rights and how the show ended up, but I suspect Anne and Christopher wanted a more faithful version.

I just finished it, and my life feels empty now.

The costumes alone! The way the clothes signal where they are in time.

Seriously…i had such high hopes for Jack Huston esp but his role was just not giving at all

Just the preview made me decide to not watch it. Glad I did. And it makes me sad because it is my favorite book from her!

At the time I read it the Mayfair Witches was my favorite series. I loved how deep they went into the mythology, and I had been craving a good TV show do do that kind of thing with witches, so I was hoping for a lot. Very disappointed. My bf still wants to watch the 2nd season but I'm resisting.

I also really loved that the women had the power.

I was blown away by season 1, and somehow just now learned that its back!

Oh, man. Season two is even better.

Sooooo good. Everyone at their best.

Especially Anderson, my first choice to play Peter Grant in The Rivers of London (he's a bit too old now). You should see his Raleigh Ritchie MVs.

Because of you saying this, and @djolder.bsky.social, I'm going to pay for season 2! Not going to resubscribe to AMC, tho.

It’s so damn good. Rewatching S1 has shown some amazing foreshadowing for S2.

Right?? What ep are you on?
Avatar
I’m about halfway through season two and WHEW.

Ohhhhh you’re about to hit the 1975 flashback and all that comes after. Get ready to be emotionally devastated!
Avatar
Everyone raves but I’ve been avoiding it because I don’t like gore and I assume vampires = gore. For those of you who’ve seen it, how high is the gore factor?
Avatar
Mostly blood based, there’s artful spurts and it covers the camera occasionally
Avatar
i read it as a teen and still am not recovered
Avatar
Imma gonna need to rewatch about 20 times.

Truly one of the best things on tv

I’m going back and forth on it personally. I loved loved the original movie and thought Pitt and cruise did a phenomenal job. Reid and Anderson are doing amazing too but it’s definitely a different flavor. It’s the modern day interludes where I lose some interest though. Only 3 episodes in though.
