Soras are small, robin sized birds, in the rail family and they love reeds and marsh grasses! They are rarely seen as they nest in the reeds, live in the reeds and rarely come out. This Sora was slowly wading through the grasses by the marsh edge looking for insects. πŸͺΆ

'Small carpenter bees' in genus Ceratina are "subsocial": two females may set up housekeeping together, with one laying eggs in the nest & the other foraging for food. Males may temporarily guard nests of females for mating access, but some species are female-only & reproduce by parthenogenesis.
