Wondering what Sam Alito's opinions are about travelers who seek shelter for a night in, say, a manger.

It would be a shame if someone in Grants Pass built a manger on public property and then the city tore it down while some homeless people tried to sleep under it.

pretty easy: just ask the traveler to present identification that they are the Son of God, and then they get to stay

Depends. Were they counted in the census?

All those years in Italian elementary school when I had to sit in the back of the room and read quietly while the other kids had their mandatory religious instruction prepared me to make that joke.

That would depend on the flag they wave...

Cons care about J-Town in name only. If you actually read the damn Bible, the dude was kind of a hippie who would directly disagree with 90% of their policies.

He thinks Away in a Manger means "take them away"
Not just travelers, they were immigrants.

He’d hang them upside down, of course.

These guys aren't worshipping him. They're worshipping Mammon. He apparently looks a lot like Jesus, but he sounds more like Gordon Gecko from Wall Street. I don't think he'll have anything nice to say about kids in mangers...

They put a mask on Mammon and call it Christ. They put a mask on Moloch and call it Christ. Their masters are greed and cruelty, and they have turned their faces from the light.
Why, he would do what his wife told him, let them sleep in the street then have them arrested for vagrancy....simple enough.

Honestly that just plays into the deterministic view that homeless people are sorted into live / die categories by God Himself We can’t have a social safety net because Jesus didn’t have one
