this isn’t meant to be a subtweet or anything, but it is truly sad how many of my Twitter mutuals (who I otherwise like) I see slowly mentally deteriorating over politics every single day on there. I wonder if it would be rude of me to DM them to plead with them to log off and go for a walk
like, people can use social media for whatever purpose they choose — I’m not going to tell people what to post about — but I fail to see how working yourself up to the point of having a stroke every single day is productive, either for you personally or for achieving your political goals
yeah, it just seemed like every single day on there was so heated, even if you were like “I made this steak for dinner tonight and it tasted good.” just not worth posting over there at all anymore imo
As someone who was been in this field for ten years, I would like I say I agree with you eve one further and say I don't understand why some people are posting at all. Or why they choose some sites purely based on convenience or emotion.
It feels like a trap.
“hey i have been seeing some anger in those tweets, that stand out more than just having a bad day. wanted to check in and make sure you were alright and, if needed, provide a friendly push in the direction of help.”
good friends and people will recognize that you attempted to reach out and help them without judging, even if they aren’t happy with you when you did it
and if they continue to hate and can’t see the difference…
well… you don’t have to keep reaching out is all i’m saying
You're really gonna spend all day mad online yelling about [thing you can't control] instead of, idk, living your life and caring about the world and people around you? And you're not even gonna double check to see if [thing you're mad about now] might be not accurate or lacking context?
the few that I’ve talked to about Bluesky don’t like it here because there’s not enough “action,” which I can only assume means “people yelling at each other about the same shit 365 days a year.” hey, their loss imo
I felt like my tweets got a lot of engagement, but it wasn’t always the engagement I liked lol. a lot of it was just from people who just live to take issue with every single thing someone posts, and it just got to be exhausting to post at all
I'm one of the guys who kept getting bitmap errors when I post alt text on images from mobile (the most toxic part of the fandom, because we have Had Enough)
my core group of friends there still won't come here. i'm the only one who spends more time here than there. but they also love mess and honestly i am grateful for their abilities because they are like my twitter cliff notes or my version of butters from south park.
lol yeah. a few of my friends who refuse to come here still DM me over there and we’re still cool, but I see them absolutely melting down on main every time I check in over there and it seems like it would be miserable to me
