I know the UK is often whipped by the US into doing whatever the latter wants on foreign policy but can I expect even just a slight change in posture and policy on Palestine from the World's Silliest Anglophone Socialist Party or
now now. irish labour exists
(Though they are infinitely better on Palestine by way of the overton window in Ireland on I-P being so different to start with)
Probably moderately better than right now but not by a massive amount and with probably quite a big chance of them starting something progress-oriented and chickening out of it midway
Probably more backbench MPs on the whole will be pro-Palestine with a Lab majority than a Tory one. Though there are obvious counterexamples. Like, Luke Akehurst finally shoving himself into Parliament isn't great...
Can't see OP, but assume this is about the incoming gov, which if anything, will be reliably pro Israel. One of the guy's responsible for Starmer is a literal lobbyist for Israel (and soon MP) who once said Obama and Kerry were antisemites, just as a flavour for how they think.
Unfortunately this is Keir Starmer
www.lbc.co.uk/news/sir-kei...
When asked about Israel cutting off water and electricity from Gaza, Keir Starmer said “Israel has the right. Obviously, everything should be done within international law."
They tried to head off public anger by claiming that it was now Labour policy to support a Palestinian state, and then quietly walked it back a day before the election. A proportion of their votes today will have come from people who were on the marches and were duped.
