This is nuts. This was supposed to be the safe space, the refuge from the mean people on Xitter. Bouie is a smart guy and worth taking seriously. I missed the pile-on, thank god, but it sounds delusional.
Shit, I think Jamelle Bouie quit Bluesky. This sucks. I like him a lot.

Did this nice sweet liberal safe space really drive Jamelle Bouie away?

As a side note, this is John McEntee, Trump's Director of White House Personnel and the primary architect of Project 2025. On Tik Tok he said he gives counterfeit bills to homeless people so they will be arrested when they go to spend them.

I love the embrace of a weak, possibly doomed, candidate because the other guy is so much worse—as if being weak and possibly doomed didn’t increase the likelihood of the bad guy winning.
A brokered Democratic convention, with massive protests just outside the convention hall, is Trump's dream scenario. 24 hours later, I'm astounded at how many people claiming to be worried about an authoritarian America under Trump want to create the perfect storm for him to seize power.

Just remarkable how "old person won't retire" has driven history for the last 15 years. Kennedy not resigning after brain cancer diagnosis -> Scott Brown Feinstein staying on past prime and bungling hearings -> Kavanaugh/Barrett RBG Biden

There's been a hiring spree by crypto groups, trying to pitch reporters on how it's this election-changing populist issue. But it's not - the story is that crypto investors have funded a super PAC to elect puppets to Congress. I have rarely gotten so many intelligence-insulting pitches.

Deeper into idiocy
UNC Asheville is going to close its drama, philosophy, religious studies, French, and German depts because financial consultants recommend this. These consultants only count the number of majors, not the number who take and are influenced by courses from depts other than their major. Shame!

So basically the presidential election comes down to one question: Will being a criminal alienate more potential Republican voters than supporting war crimes will alienate potential Democrat voters? A dying empire led by bad people, indeed.
