Right, me too—but the spare lingers in a Schroedinger-ish state of empty/full uncertainty. If I need it, it’s empty too. Otherwise it’s so full it hurts my back to lift it.

That means you get to play the game where you try to recall getting the spare filled when you swapped it out.

I know and have lost this game!

not allowed in my nanny state so I am left to the depradations and underfilling and terrible availability of blue rhino and amerigas, I am at all times so close to ditching propane entirely

If you do, I also have a Big Green Egg and would recommend the knockoff Kamado Joe which is usually being sold at Costco for half the price.

I mean I have a very.... American... number of grills; I am totally tempted by a Kamado to fill the role that propane does, which is "grill that I can cook quick steaks or fish on whenever, especially as a weekday thing" but it seems like it might not be quiiiiite as handy
