yeah! it's more been one of those curiosities, because people have never really been rude about it, but big boss also directly acknowledges the weight, so... yeah, it's just been one of those things

as with most things in the south, if they're saying it to your face, it's a compliment.

Definitely an East Coast thing and sometimes in the south too (I see it a lot in Jersey when I’m with relatives and it depends on the borough, if people use it or not at all).. I feel it’s meant to be endearing and not mean spirited. Like “Eyyy big boss! What can I get’ya’?”
