It feels good to go back to my own locally stored music and not have THE ALGORITHM tell me what I want to listen to, which is the same things it always tell me. True random shuffle, how I missed you. Spotify also won't know every time I listen to music and from where, figuring out my life habits.

You are. It's tough being consistently a warm and friendly (and sexy at the same time) influence online, but you're doing it. I've seen people drop off from the interwebs, mostly some years ago. It's cool if they want to, but It would be nice to know that it was of their choice and they're ok.

True. Have to keep those extremely expensive folk paid. An office I was in 20 years ago (gah!) had a "thermostat" with a single button. Was it an "I'm uncomfortable" button? Did it function like a "close doors" elevator button? I have no idea.

Given the pressure the internet is under, how much data scraping there is, the possibility of adult media being outlawed, and the attraction of being present where you are with the people around you, it's not a horrible idea. But we'd miss you for sure.

Someone on CBC Radio mentioned the length of time between the last presidential shooting (Regan -43y, 1981, Kennedy -18y, 1963, Roosevelt -51y, 1912) was not anomolous and this one was not an extraordinary event. There have been 3 wounded and 4 killed. Y'all love presidential assassinations.
