LibDems maintaining their tradition of Tory enabling practices. I trust them less than the conservatives, because at least they tell you what they are.
You are OTHERED.
Just as every marginalised group has always been OTHERED.
Talked over, as if you aren't there. Because in their minds, it would be ever so nice if you just WEREN'T.
In THEIR minds, it would be ever so nice if the world could just be HOMOGENOUS.
🤬 I didn't know, but am not surprised - there was a lot "off" about him, so I was right to not vote for him despite the Lib Dem Manifesto. Thanks for digging that up and sharing, though.
My MP. It was one of many reasons I didn't vote LibDem.
At least SNP die-hards can't claim Green/trans rights votes - my vote - "cost" them a seat. LibDems would have still won the seat even if every single green vote went to the SNP.
Bit late now. Still, I’ve never heard of him and I know there are other LDs that feel the same way, but the important thing is the manifesto pledge Ed Davey made to recognise and support all trans people.
Keir Starmer consulted with JKR. The difference is clear
I’m not sure Starmer actually did - but I can understand the reluctance to vote for Labour. Their message on this has been weak, to say the least. I hope their stance changes now they’re in power; because it needs to.
If he did, it happened in private. Who knows, but it doesn’t look good and all I care about is how this must feel for a trans person. I agree, I sincerely hope it does. I hope they read the room better on this. I remember far too well how it felt growing up gay with politics/media against us
