Imagine if the NYT defended trans people instead of attacking them. Imagine if the NYT refused to platform bigots and insurrectionists. Imagine if the NYT actually covered local New York City politics and news. Imagine if the NYT had a public editor.

Imagine for one second if the NYT marshaled its massive influence towards voter registration, towards supporting voting rights groups, towards encouraging people to vote and fighting people who try to stop people from voting. Imagine if the NYT actually championed participatory democracy.

This week should make it clear that news media has a tremendous power to set agendas & direct attention. So it’s esp important to note the ways in which they frame themselves as a passive, agency-less entity. Isnt it curious that they do that any time they talk about the favorable coverage Rs get?

Strategic use of passive voice here from the New York Times. Why do Trump’s crazy rantings not also “become” prominent news stories? It’s a mystery.

It's pretty interesting what the media decides is front page news and what they don't decide is front page news! Trump being a child sex abuser with close connections to Jeffrey Epstein somehow doesn't merit the same coverage as "unnamed Dem insider has concerns about Biden's age"

I just counted home page stories. The Daily Caller has five anti-Biden and six pro-Trump stories. The New York Times has seven anti-Biden stories and three that give this style of both-sides treatment to Trump. The Times really is sprinting off a cliff to satisfy their nepo-publisher’s vendetta.
