posts like the “you’re just insecure about your technical skills” guy are extra funny because there was a point, early in my career, where despite having reverse engineered a sample of state-sponsored malware as my tech screen for my first job, i WAS insecure about my technical skills…

… but after years of seeing the absolute bullshit people get up to because i was managing the security incidents that resulted from their nonsense? nah, i’m good. 😎

i’m not saying i don’t still have some level of imposter syndrome! i’m just saying, sometimes the best way to alleviate some of that imposter syndrome is to meaningfully engage with the output of smug jackasses, so you can internalize that knowing you have more to learn is actually an advantage.

The imposter syndrome is insane for NO reason and I hate it. It wasnt until I was applying for my masters and writing my app essay that I was able to see all my accomplishments and I was shocked. The whole time writing it I was like “omg I still dont know so much wtf am I doing here”
