Kind of, except Pokerface largely ignores the class dynamics that I personally find so enjoyable about Columbo. He's always going after rich pricks, whereas Pokerface was likely as not catching minimum wage dirtbags.
Yeah, yeah, totally agreed. I was mostly thinking the gender switch had been done. That’s why I was thinking it could be about power structure within the police + rich people
Yeah, I think Pokerface makes a gender swap a harder sell. But I think there's definitely room for a new working-class-hero style Columbo. Not sure who I'd cast for it tho!
Los Angeles still makes a lot of sense, but I think San Francisco also has a lot of potential these days. I'd love to see him take down Theter Piel every week.
