I first heard of it when I was becoming a humanist and skeptic back in the 70's. It's the reason most atheists now agree it is pointless to debate creationists. That Trump would do it was a given, as he does it often. It's irresponsible if Biden's advisors didn't tell him not to debate Gish-Trump.
