This summary of Rahimi, from noted constitutional scholar @petersagal.bsky.social, strikes me as the only short term way out of the Immunity ruling.
Once it became clear how nutball Bruen was, everyone but Thomas came around, somewhat.

I recommend reading through the Rahimi decision, concurrences and dissent.
Decision: Bruen was fine, but let’s not get crazy.
Gorsuch, Kavanagh: Bruen may be nuts, but originalism is good!
Kagan, Sotomayor: We done told you
Jackson: Look at the mess you made
Thomas: DIE UNHAPPY LOSERS
The problem is that while there is no shortage of gun cases with absurd results to feed up for cert, presidential immunity cases will be very rare (and if they aren’t then we likely have other big problems) and so it could take awhile for the Court to come around.
Genuinely missed that -- but honestly that summary of Rahimi was the best writing I saw on it, even as someone covering how it's being applied in the courts (in the Hunter Biden case).
I do tend to think this is how it will play out, assuming Trump loses—immunity turns out to be Trump-specific, with exceptions and carve-outs discovered for later, “garden variety” prosecutions
