1. "Teach the center left party a lesson" carries too high a short-term price. The bad guys work fast.
2. If not even New Zealand is safe from authoritarian undoing whatever good the center left has done, then there's nowhere to run. We have to stand and fight.
3. UK & France show that we can win.
