You’ve had 248 years. If we go from when England’s current landlords arrived in 1066, the equivalent is 1314. Everything was going great. Was it Hell. Edward II was king, possibly the worse we’ve ever had. We’ve just lost at Bannockburn, The Great Famine was coming, and our fourth big civil war.

Of course, Edward II’s days are numbered, and he’ll be murdered with a red hot poker up his arse, so the story goes. Just a thought if you end up electing a King.
