And to be clear, they can do a lot of harm without your despair, it’s not some talisman that will defeat them on its own. But it is something they feel entitled to and it drives them nuts if they can’t have it.

God right now it’s really hard for me to not despair right now. The hope I’m hanging onto is that this shitty SCOTUS ruling will motivate more people to turn out in November to vote against Trump. I’ve gotta hang onto something.

I will do my best to get out the vote. I will also serve as a Democratic poll watcher; I did that in Maricopa County, Arizona, in 2020.

That got us in Wisconsin through a decade of Gerrymandered Republican one-party rule.

I often ground myself by thinking about this. I used to think we would never defeat gerrymandering, but now we're about to vote with new maps.

The State Rep. in my old, GOP-gerrymandered district sent out a survey newsletter. I decided to fill it out & return it. Even if they ignored me, they'd knew what I thought. In the comments section? FAIR MAPS NOW. My most important issue? FAIR MAPS NOW. Now we're in a leans-D Assembly district.

Forget despair. I’m furious.
