I’ve seen a lot of horror movies since I began watching when I was 12. How many? 800 of them! I’m a big fuckin nerd AMA

AGAIN. Stop taking “scariest movie of the year/decade/etc!” stuff seriously! Horror is so deeply subjective that everyone is gonna be scared by different things. You know what movie made me wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat? Carriers, the 2009 Chris Pine pandemic movie.

As someone who has seen nearly 800 horror movies I haven’t paid attention to the “SCARIEST MOVIE IN ONE BILLION YEARS” shit for… a very long time. Without fail it’s -horror movie comes out -critics say it’s the SCARIEST EVER -people then are annoyed it’s not the scariest ever

I was removing all the art from my walls so I could rearrange it (it’s been unchanged for 3+ years) and came online and was like oh OH

Now I’m going and reading Reddit threads about the ciphers and Bible passages and occult stuff in the Longlegs trailers. The marketing team got pretty in depth with it all, I’m imagining people are gonna go over the film with a fine tooth comb and find even more weird shit

LONGLEGS is great. Didn’t scare me but it’s unsettling, tense, and stylish. A little bit of Silence of the Lambs but more like his prev movie Blackcoats Daughter and s1 of True Detective. The cast is excellent. Lots of little “oh noooooo” moments.

I do! Not too many recently, but a few :)

Behold, an experiment! Didn’t draw it or do lineart at all (scary!), just went right into painting shapes and shadows/highlights in an under painting, then painting over that. Rhaenyra Targaryen, House of the Dragon. I love doing weird colorful shadows.

The 2020 Children of the Corn movie was bafflingly bad. Starts off with a bunch of orphans being killed by halothane gas, and not a single one becomes a corn ghost. Not one! Instead we get a sociopathic child leading a gaggle of murderous children and who can summon… a GMO corn demon

Watched In A Violent Nature last night, and I’m not normally a slasher/bad guy (who may or may not be alive) with a weapon movie fan but it was pretty dang good. Tense and brutal and unflinching. I liked the lack of jump scares or music.

WIP, no drawing done beforehand, just straight into blocking in colors and shapes which is scary but fun

Horror buds, who else is seeing LONGLEGS this week? I’m excited to see Maika Monroe again, and to see what weird shit Nic Cage does in a serial killer role
