Big tech is worming “ai” into professions—medicine, teaching, policing—by claiming to automate aspects of those fields that constitute “drudgery,” but it really gives the game away that providing feedback, crafting narratives, and understanding people’s stories are seen as things to be mechanized

Time and time again we’ve been told that mechanisation will free us form the drudgery of life so we can focus on art, music, literature, sport, etc. Yet it is all those things that this tech is being put to use on! We’ll be left to work the drudgery in service of the machine that creates our art.

So the Matrix, but we are not batteries, we are dull machines working for machines. It's not my original thought, though I can't find where I've read it before, but I'd consider it an intriguingly good one. Tech corps should be stopped by law from using sci-fi as blueprint. It never ends well

Yup, they're literally trying it with THERAPY.

Of course. People are going to die because AI. The techbros are going to shrug and laugh about it.
