Might be interesting to calculate the average/median high when 90+ is achieved throughout the year (so we can see how extreme the heat was, ie a year like 40 days of 90-92 vs a year with 35 days of 90-100).

Not sure how much of a difference it makes in the end since I'm guessing there will be a lot of 90-91 days that skew it.

If you have the hourly data, calculate conditional on reaching 90 by, say, 11 or noon LT.

Growing up in CT in the ‘60’s, 40 miles from NYC, the critical temperature for a chance at 100F in Central Park was 93F at noon. 92F had a chance. June 27, 1966 was my first 100F experience (was 12 years old)…Central Park was 92F at noon that day.
