a man just drove all the way up our long drive, parked, dumped ashes all over the cactus outside our bedroom window, and drove away. wtf man.

Huh. Weird, but maybe poignant? Or something? Hard to say.

I wonder if they just randomly chose the site. (as in they would drive past it and thought it was beautiful) Or if they knew and were a fan.

it's a very nice cactus but i'm not sure i would rank it as a final resting cactus.

Yikes! I once emptied dog ashes in Malibu, and the ranger said it's fine as long as it's not human remains. Kind of a double yikes moment.
