This paragraph starts by parroting the discredited traumatogenic claims (eg. that trauma makes people gay) before careening into counseling clients against premarital sex outside of "male-female marriage"

I don't think it's possible to overstate how insidious it is that these are organizations which, for many communities, are the only available social services.

You can read the full text of this absolutely reprehensible legal filing here, where the therapist in question reports seeing children "as young as 10 to 12" for therapy related to gender and sexual orientation.

Unsurprisingly, and perhaps the impetus for this legal filing since similar previous suits have all failed in court, they cite the Cass Review. A document which, no matter how paragraph. Clearly didn't read. Even Cass could find no reliable evidence to support the next paragraph and stated as such.

What's always telling about these is how frequently they vacillate between "evidence" arguments and religious instruction arguments. Here Becket argues that the ban is unconstitutional because it prohibits "counseling that would help parents transmit their religious beliefs"

These are honest in way that's rare lately. Parents of trans kids are in an impossible situation as the very best options for their kids are withheld at a time where their bodies are about to change dramatically, and in ways that may completely alienate them from their peers.
